What are RSS Feeds?
(If you know what RSS is - click here to subscribe)
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) provides a way to check for new updates to a website or find the latest tables of contents for your favourite journals. Many journal publishers and news services have RSS feeds. They are convenient because:
- You can look at the most recent table of contents whenever you like
- Your email in-box is not overloaded with lots of alerts
- Links to your favourite journals are available in one place
- You can link directly to information about the articles on the e-journal site.
If you are using Internet Explorer 7 or Firefox, Support for RSS is built into the browser! Simply click here and follow the instructions on the screen.
If you are using an older browser you will need to use an RSS newsreader (We recommend the Google Newsreader)
Once you have set up your newsreader, you can subscribe to the Campus Square RSS. To do this, first copy the URL of our XML page: http://www.campussquare.net/feed/. Then follow the instructions for your particular newsreader and paste this location wherever it asks for the location of the service to which you wish to subscribe.
The Lehigh Microfinance Club Ten Thousand Villages Festival Sale will support the efforts of artisans around the world by selling their handmade gifts, home decor, jewelry and personal accessories. The event, which will be held on December 1st through the 4th from 9:00am until 6:00 pm at the Lehigh University Bookstore, offers a unique opportunity for people in the Bethlehem community to invest in their world by shopping fair trade. Shoppers will also learn more about skilled artisans in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.
“For more than 60 years Ten Thousand Villages has worked with talented artisans around the world providing vital, fair income in exchange for their beautiful handcrafted items,” sale organizer Mary Popp said. “By holding this sale of handpainted ceramics, intricately woven basketry and handmade jewelry, we give people in Bethlehem, PA community a chance to help create employment opportunities for people around the world.”
The Lehigh Microfinance Club has hosted a festival this past year, showcasing an exquisite collection of handcrafted items from Ten Thousand Villages.
Ten Thousand Villages is a fair trade retailer of artisan-crafted home decor, personal accessories and gift items from across the globe. Featuring products from more than 130 artisan groups in some 38 countries, we are part of a network of more than 155 retail outlets throughout the United States selling Ten Thousand Villages products. For more than 60 years, Ten Thousand Villages has been establishing long-term buying relationships in places where skilled artisans lack opportunities for stable income. All artisans are fairly paid for their products. Ten Thousand Villages is a nonprofit program of Mennonite Central Committee (MCC).
